REGINA SENA

Rob,
Regina just made her decision.  She committed to attend and play softball at Centre College in Danville, KY.   She turned down a very nice offer from Indiana U-Purdue U @ Ft Wayne (IPFW)and she also turned down Saint Louis U, Trinity U, CO School of Mines, Knox College and U of MN-Morris. I for one am glad it's decided and I'm very happy with her choice.  Judging from the shout heard across the country that her new coach blasted out, the softball program at Centre is very pleased with her choice. These last few weeks have been very tense.  We were not prepared for the constant phone calls, emails and letters from coaches trying to keep her interested in their programs.  Nor were we prepared for the renewed interest and offers from DI coaches that seemed to drop out of the hunt previously.  I just kept reminding her that she needed to focus on choosing the best educational fit, one that she would love to attend if she did not play softball. Centre is a nationally ranked liberal arts college that makes several unique promises to its students.  They promise that they will be able to study abroad, have an internship in their field of study and that they will graduate in four years or they can attend for a fifth year free. Keep reminding your girls that they need to stay focused on their academics.  That really opened up some doors for Regina.
Congratulations to all the recent commitments.  The Sharks are doing great.
Regards,
PJ Sena

ARI ROACH
Dear Rob and Tim,
I wanted to let you know that I am going to be playing at Pitzer College in the fall. As you know, I wanted a school with great academics, a quality softball program and in Southern California.  Pitzer college is ranked one of the top 50 Liberal Art colleges in the country, the faculty is ranked third best in the country and this was their most competitive class.  They now rank in the top 30 for being one of the most selective of all colleges. I'm very proud to be attending this college and you were a big part of getting me there. I want to thank you for all the letters to college coaches, for always pushing me to keep my grades up, and making sure I was seen whenever my college coaches were there. I appreciate all you have done for me. The sharks have been a big reason why I have been able to meet all my goals for college.
Thank you again,

Arianna Roach

CC DALY
Hi Coach,

I wanted to let you know I will be attending Chapman University in Orange, CA this coming fall after my high school graduation.
I'm also really looking forward to playing softball for Coach Janet Lloyd.

Thank you for your time, consideration, responsiveness, and generosity over this past year as I navigated through my personal college search and found the best fit for me is Chapman University this fall.

Go Panthers!

Yours truly,
CC Daly

SAM ROLLANDI

Dear Rob & Tim:

I'm sitting here at the office on Saturday morning trying to get caught up on a mountain of paperwork that's accumulated while I was gone on vacation. I can't get anything done because I'm nervous as a "cat" thinking about the championship game that's about three hours away. So I thought that I'd divert my anxiousness by writing you guys a note.

Regardless of the outcome of the game today, and in light of the fact that this will be Samantha's last game with the Sharks for this year and quite possibly forever depending on what takes place next year, I wanted you both to know just how much our family has appreciated our time with the Sharks organization and particularly the association and friendship that we have developed with the two of you.

The opportunity for Samantha to be going to Bucknell University and playing softball with a scholarship for a Division I College would not exist were it not for the two of you. For that, we will always be grateful. In looking at the difference in her performance between High School Ball a short three months ago and comparing it to her performance playing for you both is truly a testimonial of your support and encouragement. No kidding, the difference is obvious to all of us. It really is amazing what someone can accomplish when they have the confidence and positive reinforcement of their coaches.

With respect to the championship game that will take place in just a couple of hours I wish you both all the best. What you have succeeded in accomplishing will impact and shape the future of every girl on your team and for that, you should both be extremely proud. Twenty-five years from now these girls will still remember Rob Piper, Tim Fullerton, and the Championship Game at the Triple Crown in Utah.

Many years ago someone much wiser than myself explained that when it comes to the accomplishment of goals that it was like a journey and that in fact, it wasn't really arriving at the destination so much as it was the successful completion of the journey.

Regardless of how things went today, thanks for a terrific trip!

AMANDA REYES

Rob & Tim,
I guess this is where (Reyes Family) we get off the Lady Sharks bus.  Speaking for Noelia and me, we can not express enough gratitude and thanks to the both of you for all that you have done to help Amanda.

It is hard to believe but just three years ago, Amanda showed up on your practice field not sure what she wanted to do or could accomplish as a softball player.  Your support and guidance helped her find the right academic and athletic college environment.  Thanks for being patient with her.

Good luck with the next group of Lady Sharks and best wishes for continued success with the program.

 JENNIFER LUDERS

Jennifer luders announced she has committed to and will be accepting a position at Whittier University.  Jen has been a catcher with the Lady Sharks Gold for over two years. We are all very proud of her and the hard work she put in. Way to go! Here is her annoncement letter:

 Dear Rob and Tim,

Well, it is official. I have committed to play collegiate level softball at Whittier College in Southern California next year. Whittier is a small liberal arts college that is highly thought of academically. After visiting the campus twice, I soon learned that Coach Erin Bridges-Thorpe is a great coach that has built a winning Division III softball program at Whittier. Her program is growing stronger and stronger year after year. I like her style and philosophy when it comes to the game.

I continue to appreciate all you do for me as well as the Lady Sharks Gold. Your guidance has kept my dad and me knowledgeable and busy in the softball recruiting process. It all paid off with offers from numerous colleges!

As you know, I was also offered a signing to play on UC Riverside's Division I softball team. While I thought making the decision to play with either Whittier or UC Riverside would be a difficult one, the feedback we received from each of you made it much easier. Playing Division I softball in Southern California would be the highlight of my softball career, however, I could not lose sight of my main goal which is to get a solid education during the next 4 years. Both schools have their strengths but when all was said and done, Whittier had the perfect combination of academics and athletics for me. They emphasize "academics before athletics". They also offered me an academic scholarship which, by the way, reinforces the important Lady Sharks Gold philosophy you stress of maintaining our grades!

Thanks again for everything and I am looking forward to Shark's softball this summer!
Sincerely,
Jennifer Luders

MELISSA MUNOZ

Melissa Munoz announced she has been accepted in to Scripps College and will be a part of their softball program next year. Meli will be graduating from Logan High School and played for the Lady Sharks Gold for a number of seasons. Here is her announcment letter:

____________________________________________________________________

Dear Rob,

Thanks to the exposure I received while playing for Lady Sharks Gold, I will be continuing my softball career at the collegiate level at Scripps College in Southern California. Scripps is one of the five Claremont Colleges and highly regarded academically. During a recruiting visit there last fall, I was also impressed with their athletic facilities and softball program.

If you’ll remember, coach Betsy Hipple attended several Lady Sharks games when we played at showcase tournaments in Irvine and San Diego. I will never forget the time I was struggling at the plate, yet you and Tim juggled the lineup late in the game just so I could get an extra at bat in front of the coach. Luckily for me, I hit a shot high over the left fielder’s head. Following that tournament, Coach Hipple designated me as the #1 recruit for Scripps College.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the Lady Sharks Gold program. Thank you for getting us into the top showcase tournaments. And thank you for nagging me and my parents about writing and contacting college coaches. I really enjoyed playing for you guys and had a lot of fun. I already miss you, Tim and all the girls. Best wishes to all. I will stay in touch, and I will do the Lady Sharks Gold proud.

Sincerely,

Melissa Muñoz

JAMIE GOLDBERG - POMONA

Jamie Goldberg announced she has signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball at Pomona. Jamie is a recent graduate of our Lady Sharks softball program and will do an outstanding job. Here is her announcement letter:

_____________________________________________________________________

Hi Coach Rob,

This is Jamie Goldberg. I just wanted to e-mail you and let you know that I was admitted to Pomona College as their number 1 softball recruit and will be attending next year. I want to thank you for the opportunities to play with the Lady Sharks last summer and showcase my skills. The Pomona coach was able to see me play in two games at the Champions Cup and that really sparked her interest in me! If it wasn't for the opportunity with the Sharks I might not have been accepted to Pomona. Thank you again for all your help!

Sincerely,
Jamie Goldberg
